Brightening/Hyperpigmentation

GOOD MOLECULES | Discoloration Correcting Serum
Amazing serum for discoloration and hyperpigmentation- Apply morning/evening in the same step as other water-based serums and before moisturizers.
THE ORDINARY | Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% In Vitamin F
Ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate is a very effective and stable oil-soluble derivative of vitamin C and ethyl linoleate can help provide barrier nourishment. Shouldn't cause irritation despite high %, but it is fully oil-based so if you have oily skin you might not like it. I would actually apply this as the last step before SPF- You could do this after moisturizers since it's fully oil-based. If you have oily skin try the Stratia C+C (also on this shelf) instead since it has a mattifying formula.
HERO COSMETICS | Lightning Wand Dark Spot Brightening Serum
Great product for pigmentation due to scarring. Apply after cleansing & after water-based essences and serums, but before moisturizer.
TOPICALS | Faded Brightening & Clearing Gel
Tranexamic acid, azelaic acid, dimethylmethoxy chromanyl, alpha arbutin, and kojic acid palmitate target hyperpigmentation at various levels of the melanin synthesis pathway to help address discoloration. This should be pretty gentle but heads up some people have said it smells weird? If that doesn't bother you though this should be a great product. Use after water-based serums and before moisturizer/SPF.
URBAN SKIN RX | Even Tone Gentle Gel Cleanser
azelaic acid, retinol, kojic acid, and arbutin join forces in this one to help target discoloration
URBAN SKIN RX | Even Smooth & Glow Enzyme Mask
Resurfacing mask with lactic/ glycolic acids and enzymes to help promote exfoliation for a more radiant, renewed complexion and to help keep pores from becoming clogged. Also contains a stabilized Vitamin C derivative to help reduce pigmentation associated with scarring. Use 1-2x weekly for about 10-15 minutes before rinsing off.
THE ORDINARY | Mandelic Acid 10% + HA
Great 10% AHA exfoliant- mandelic is better for sensitive skin than lactic & glycolic and has slight oil-soluble properties to help decongest pores. My favorite exfoliant and this product also has pepperberry extract to reduce stinging/redness associated with alphahydroxy acids like mandelic. Apply before serums.
Don't waste your money on a $150 vitamin C serum that will begin losing potency before you've even used it- this product uses true ascorbic acid in a water-free formula in airless packaging to reduce the oxidation of active Vitamin C. It's a lightweight mattifying formula to be used as the last step before SPF.
This is using a stabilized derivative of vitaminC for consistent benefits along with a TON of brightening actives that target multiple steps of the melanin synthesis pathway for optimal results. Use after water-based serums and before moisturizers. Likely more effective than Sachi and right in line with Allies of Skin/SkinMedica Lytera. It's just up to you which one you'd prefer
For existing scarring, check out this product for helping target pigmentation. It has actives to target multiple steps of the melanin synthesis pathway for ultimate brightening benefits. Use before moisturizers and after water-based serums.
35% of stabilized vitamin C derivatives with additional antioxidant benefits from superoxide dismutase and glutathione. Don't waste your money on SKC which will break down in the bottle before you've had a chance to use it. This will be way better. Use before other water-based serums and moisturizers. Likely similar in efficacy to Revision CC and SkinMedica Lytera- it's up to you which you prefer!
If you can afford this, it's like the gold standard for brightening and pigmentation that a lot of other products are compared to (and fall short of). Tranexamic acid and phenylethyl resorcinol work together to help reduce the appearance of pigmentation- phenylethyl resorcinol has even been shown to be as effective as hydroquinone at helping with pigmentation without the negative side effects.
EGF is one of the best regenerative actives out there that has been extensively studied for its ability to improve skin's recovery. If your hyperpigmentation comes from scarring from acne, etc- using this daily could help reduce new scars from forming. Use after cleansing and before moisturizers.
YOUR PIGMENTATION WILL GET WORSE IF YOU'RE NOT USING A SUNSCREEN- this is one of my faves. Super lightweight, no white cast, not greasy, doesn't burn, doesn't make makeup apply weird.
Awesome setting spray for those of us who need to reapply throughout the day but don't want to mess up our makeup. I don't recommend using a setting spray on its own- you still need to have a good SPF base. But this is better than nothing if you don't tend to reapply throughout the day and this formula has mattifying/oil absorption properties.
This SPF product is awesome if you want to splurge a little- encapsulated algae ingredient was shown to be able to convert visible light into energy your cells can use and was shown to contribute to a more radiant appearance!
Using a proprietary grape extraction process to maximize resveratrol for antioxidant and anti-redness benefits and a more even-toned, radiant complexion.
amazing brightening treatment (especially for the price?!) with tranexamic acid, kojic acid, and arbutin to target pigmentation at multiple steps of the melanin synthesis pathway. Use after water-based serums and before moisturizer.
Amazing 3-part system with products to target hyperpigmentation from every step of the melanin synthesis pathway
