“Always be linking. From your soap to your shoes—everything can be linked.”

Charli Evans didn’t wait for permission to start creating—she treated content like a business from day one. In just over two years, she’s grown her audience from 20K to over 170K by showing up with intention, consistency, and a genuine desire to help her community feel confident in what they wear, buy, and try.

In this interview, she shares how she uses affiliate data to shape her strategy, and why she calls ShopMy a game-changer for her business.

How did you get started as a content creator?

I started, gosh, two and a half years ago now. Prior to that, I sold Young Living through Instagram, so I was very used to talking through the camera—but I realized I wasn’t super passionate about the product. I took a break, and then two and a half years ago, I was like, ‘I love following these fashion and lifestyle creators. I’m not that different from them...why can’t I do this too?’ So I just started. And I approached it from the beginning as a business—like, I'm going to make this thing happen.

Do you remember when you first started using ShopMy?

I started using ShopMy a little over a year ago—last May, I think. Almost immediately, I loved it. The transparency is amazing, and I think your sales data comes through so much more quickly than other platforms. I still use other tools, but ShopMy really drives my strategy. If something's selling, I know I need to push it.

You mentioned that your page really took off—what happened there?

In December, I did a partnership with Rhone and—wildly—my page just took off. I grew from like 20,000 to 60 or 70K in a month. A few months later, I’m almost at 170K. It was life-changing.

Every time Rhone gifted me, I made an effort to create content—and I was sharing everything through ShopMy. I would assume that’s how they found me, because that’s where I’ve done everything for them.

What’s your take on Opportunities?

Honestly, I’ve been pretty taken aback. It’s become a really nice, steady source of income. It’s incentivized me to try new brands—even ones I’ve never linked from before. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but for brands I already love, it feels like a nice bonus. It’s low-lift, low-pressure, and a good way to test the waters for potential paid partnerships.

What advice would you give to new creators—especially those starting with affiliate?

View it as a business from day one. It’s a huge investment of time and love. Be true to yourself—there’s only one you, and that’s what sets you apart. Don’t get caught up in needing professional photos or big trips. My best-performing content is literally filmed in my bathroom or bedroom.”

“Always be linking. Everything can be linked—from your soap to your shoes. If something performs well, double down. Feature it in your next few reels. People sometimes need to see something a few times before it clicks.”

“Use your affiliate data to shape your strategy. If brands see you’re driving results, that builds your case for partnerships. And if you want a brand to notice you—link from their site. Show them you’re already working for them.

ShopMy is phenomenal. The ease of use is amazing—I've told so many brands about it. The analytics help creators and brands. Also, not having to download an app to shop makes a big difference—fewer steps means higher conversions.”
