Head of People

As the Head of People, directly reporting to the C-suite, you'll be the driving force behind ShopMy’s talent strategy, shaping the culture, and scaling our human resources capabilities to support our ambitious expansion. Your mission is multifaceted: you'll spearhead talent acquisition, nurture our workforce, lead organizational development, and ensure our HR practices bolster our position as a leader in influencer marketing. This role demands a blend of strong interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to cultivating a dynamic and inclusive workplace.

Responsibilities
  • Build a best-in-class talent acquisition strategy: lead ShopMy recruiting efforts through assessing gaps in teams and prioritizing hiring needs, defining job descriptions, and sourcing, meeting and vetting candidates
  • Conduct workforce planning with management and build a hiring roadmap accordingly
  • Maintain candidate database and tracks all recruiting efforts in an organized manner
  • Oversee new hire onboarding (orientation and resources) and facilitates integration into team
  • Develop and own career progression pathways for each team, and ensure awareness amongst employees
  • Own all processes related to employee development: establishing performance evaluation and feedback cycles, and supporting on development and training efforts as needed
  • Own all HR operations such as benefits, payroll, company policies (PTO, holidays, parental leave, etc) and overall tech stack
  • Ensure up-to-date employee-facing guides on compensation and benefits
  • Ensures all policies and practices comply with applicable global, local and federal laws
  • Promote diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of our company - from our values and culture to hiring practices
  • Design and lead efforts to maintain a strong culture as ShopMy scales (e.g., monthly socializing stipend, mentorship programs, annual community service days)
Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Additional HR certifications (such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) are highly desirable
  • Extensive HR Experience: At least 8+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple HR functions
  • Proven track record in scaling teams within startups or fast-growing tech companies. Prior experience in influencer marketing or related industries is a significant plus
  • Deep understanding of the various phases and trajectory of a startup and knows how to adjust the HR function to suit the needs of the company at every stage of our growth
  • Proven commitment to building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces, with an established track record of implementing initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Expert understanding of industry trends, best practices and systems across the People stack
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit - you will be building out ShopMy’s HR function and must have the passion and drive to create a world-class team
  • Engaging and skilled communicator - as an ambassador for ShopMy leading our recruiting efforts, you have the interpersonal skills to connect with candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds
