Business Development Representative

We are looking for an energetic, highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our Brand Growth team. You will play a key role in crafting and executing on a world-class outbound lead generation strategy to reach potential brand partners. You will take a proactive approach to finding prospective partners, performing research on market trends and consumer behavior to identify opportunities and new areas for ShopMy to expand into. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a fast-growing start-up by driving sales and expanding our brand partnerships. The ideal candidate is a hard-working and creative self-starter, who has a “can do” attitude and loves the dynamic and fast-paced environment of sales teams.

Responsibilities
  • Refine and own the execution of an effective outbound lead generation strategy
  • Qualify leads based on predetermined criteria and meticulously track lead status of every prospect
  • Proactively reach out to prospective brand partners via personalized emails and other methods of communication, and prioritize follow-up actions to move leads through sales funnel
  • Manage and update the sales pipeline in CRM software (HubSpot) to accurately track lead status, activities, and next steps
  • Provide regular updates on pipeline health and performance to the Director of Sales Strategy & Operations
  • Land qualified meetings for prospective brand partners to meet our Account Executives
  • Research and break into new companies and new markets, by engaging with prospects, building relationships and driving brand awareness
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and the competitive landscape in which ShopMy operates
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of customer-facing experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in sales development, lead generation, or business development roles, preferably at a high growth startup and/or in the influencer marketing space
  • Proven track record of success in finding and engaging high quality leads and driving sales outcomes
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) - you know how to build relationships and how to tailor your communication style to suit different stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills - you enjoy thinking strategically about areas of opportunity and will dive into the data to inform your outbound approach
  • Excellent organization skills
  • You take pride in your work product and the level of attention to detail that your bring to everything you do
  • You are creative and solution-oriented - you are naturally curious and will think outside-the-box to reach your goals
  • You are self-motivated, tenacious and have a proactive attitude and strong work ethic, with an unwavering passion for driving results and achieving sales targets
