Winter Skin Heroes
Cold winter air is dry, and dry air means dry skin. If you live somewhere with dry, cold air, it's likely that your skin gets a little dry and dehydrated this time of year too. Adjusting your skin care routine to supplement for the change in climate is a great way to ensure that your skin stays happy until the sun (and higher humidity) returns.
My Favorite Sunscreens
Don't ask your SPF to multi-task! The SPF added to makeups and moisturizers does not offer sufficient protection from UVA or UVB. Try these instead.
Men’s Skin Care
The primary difference between men's and women's skin is that men tend to have thicker skin with larger, more productive pores due to their facial hair. Because of this, men typically do better with lighter moisturizers and gentle, foaming cleanses. Here are some of my top picks for budget-friendly mens skin care.
Products for managing redness
Normal Skin Favorites
Congratulations, Goldilocks! Normal skin is pretty self sustaining--your oil production is sufficient across the board without crossing in to excess. The goal for your skin care routine is to maintain your balance & continue to support healthy cellular function.
Body Care
Something for everyone--my body favorite body care products ranging from sunless tanners, to organic baby oil, to exfoliating moisturizers and body retinols.
My favorite toners
Toners aren’t ~essential~ for many people, but they are a great way to enhance your skin care routine if you need a boost! Ex: if you have dehydrated skin, a hydrating toner will help those thirsty skin cells rehydrate. Some mists & toners are functionally similar enough that I’ve included some of my favorite mists on this list as well💦
Summer Beauty Essentials
Sunless tanner, sweat-friendly makeup, sunscreens, and more! After 5 years of year-round summer (going between the US and Costa Rica), I have come to rely on these beauty essentials.

Products that I have purchased again and again and again.
My Dehydrated Skin Essentials
If your skin is dehydrated, that means you lack water in our skin. Dehydrated skin is typically the result of lacking oil, which helps lock in water. This list is focused on repairing dehydration with humectants, ingredients that hold on to moisture, and lipids and ceramides which lock them in. Gentle cleansers and gentle exfoliators like glycolic acid also have a place in a skincare routine for dehydrated skin, and you'll find those on this list.
Dry Skin Favorites
Dry skin is not only a genetic skin type, but it can also be caused aging, environmental factors, internal health factors, medications, lifestyle factors, and more. Dry skin lacks adequate oil production, which can cause dehydration and a weakened barrier. It is important that dry skin is cleansed and exfoliated very gently, and that the skin care routine features products that will hydrate, nourish, and strengthen the skin.

My Favorite Oil Cleansers

Combination Skin Type Essentials
Combination skin is exactly what it sounds like: A combination of two skin types. The most common type of combination skin is an oily T-zone (nose, chin, forehead) , with dry to normal skin on your cheeks and forehead. This means you may need to use different products or additional steps on different zones of your face. I recommend cleansing gently, and choosing a moisturizer that will hydrate your T-zone without causing an oil slick. If you need extra TLC on the perimeter of your face, you can always press in a few drops of a facial oil.
Sensitive + Acne Prone Skincare Essentials
This curated list is for people with combo/oily skin, with both sensitive and acne prone skin.
Oily + Acne Prone Skin Care
Oily skin is exactly what it sounds like: skin that produces excessive oil. We all have sebaceous glands in side of our hair follicles that produce oil that moves up through the follicle and goes out on to the surface of the face through the opening of the hair follicle, the pore. When you have excess oil, sometimes those pores can look larger and get clogged with excess oil and debris. It's important to use products that will help balance your oil production without stripping your skin too much, which can cause bacteria to get in to your skin as well as inflammation, leading to more breakouts.
